Why all the hostility towards gormly? He makes a good point, it wouldn’t make a ton of sense to compare the e-cig to a cigarette, it’s uses are closer to an inhaler.

I don’t trust the fda, and I don’t believe they care about citizen health, how could I when they clear things like nicotine and alcohol?

Please don’t be rude to people who question our e-cigs, if we stop asking questions we will never improve it. I love my PV and really believe its going to save my life and other peoples as well.

This guy makes a lot of sense. The reason the E-cigs are being banned is all politicals from Big Tabacco Companies, if the e-cig enters the market, regular ciggarete sales will decline simply as that. Tremendous tax dollars are earned from ciggaretes each year. LIke shawn said, it all comes down to money. Government wants money and the tabacco companies want money.

I wasn’t debating the merits of banning it. You wanted it compared to a cigerette, and you used an invalid argument, I corected you.

I am for this product, it is much better IMHO than cigarettes.

You do not understand the following:

1. The job of the FDA.
2. Scientific methods.

You are questioning a scientific method based on ignorance. The FDA regulates many products and when they test them, they test function and result of that product, they do not do comparative studies on like products. Which is what you want them to do.

What you are suggesting is that they say “We’ll they are less harmful than regular cigs so therefore, let’s proclaim them to be better”

They are not the same thing, why can’t you understand this?

It’s not the FDA’s job to say an eCig is better for you than a real cig, it is their job to determine if the ecig is bad for you.. period.

i understand that but my main concern is that the reason they want to ban it is because it’s bad for you when compared to a nicotine inhaler which shouldnt be the case

Your an idiot, They are trying to ban a product made JUST for smokers to switch to as a healthier alternative. They are trying to ban something that can save millions of lives and hey, did you notice the same time they started trying to pass this ban they teamed up and have been receiving support from the biggest tobacco company in America for the first time? Curious isn’t it. Even stranger when they were ask for an interview about there findings they declined to speak to anyone.

The truth is it about as dangerous as a cup of Coffee and a steak (as nicotine is most similar to caffeine and all the “bad” chemicals in e-cigs are found in steak and coffee)

Your looking at this the wrong way.. the FDA reviews all products and when doing so they cannot take into consideration what a product “replaces”, only the harm potential the product they are testing, it doesn’t matter what is being replaced, this isn’t an either or situation.

Yes you are the idiot, based on your opinion they should have banned the Nicotine gum, and the patch as they ARE dangerous, more so then the e-cigarettes. And the public schools have given them to children at school who smoke to help them quit. One 14yr old boy nearly died from chewing to many pieces of nicotine gum that was given to him buy the school board. But yet the FDA says that’s just fine.

yeah i know nicotine and caffine naturally are about the same, they are addictive but not harmful. i was saying that when compared to a nicotine inhaler it’s unhealthy even though it’s completely unrelated. it’s like saying diet coke is bad for u when compared to water while not considering the fact it’s better then regular coke.

WELL PUT!!!! I agree this is all about money. The FDA do not care about the health of humans, they only care how much money they will be losing. Its sad to know that the ppl we are suppose to trust are the ones that are doing the most harm. I am a smoker and I really want to quit but i can’t seem to find anything that works for me. I live in Canada and I have just recently discovered the e-cigarette…any suggestions on where i could buy it would be awesome!

as to what Mr./MS. Gormly said… man thats not right… are you any of what you listed? and even if you are thats a childish putdown… cafeine and nicotine do share alot of similar characteristics and effects.. but the truth is that nicotine will eventually make you somewhat hyperglycemic, it blocks the release of insulin in your body (over time) diabetics whatch out!, it swells your small arteries and increases your LDL count over time (bad colesterol)
